A candidate for the NYS Assembly (125th District), Lisa Hoeschele is currently the Executive Director and CEO of Family & Children’s Counseling Services, one of the largest behavioral health providers in Central New York and the Southern Tier; in that capacity she is also President of the regional South Central Behavioral Health Care Collaborative.
Lisa earned her master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University with a concentration in non-profit management. A former French teacher, Lisa has worked as a fund development professional for Tompkins Cortland Community College, WCNY-TV/Classic-FM and Syracuse University/SU College of Law and as a licensed financial planner at Legend Equities in Syracuse.
Lisa has been active in board service, serving as president of the Cortland Enlarged City School Board and has been a community volunteer for many non-profit organizations, including the Onondaga Historical Association, Partners for Arts Education, the Cortland YWCA, the Cortland Family YMCA, the Cortland County Community Services Board and the state-wide Mental Health Clinic Fiscal-Viability Task Force. Lisa now serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Homer Center 4 the Arts and the Cortland Community Foundation, and is currently president of the New York State Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
A published author, Lisa has written and lectured on the importance of adult involvement in the lives of teens and at-risk youth for the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
Lisa is married to John Hoeschele, a CNY marketing professional, and mother of two children, Max and Margaret.
